We will not leave you waiting for long. Quick response

At MothKill, our proven moth treatment services are designed to completely eradicate moth infestations — from adults and larvae to eggs — and prevent re-infestation in your home or business.

We specialise in both chemical and heat-based solutions, using industry-standard methods that are safe, effective and compliant with UK pest-control regulations

🔎 What Our Treatment Includes

1. Full Site Inspection

Our expert technicians begin with a detailed inspection of your property to determine:

  • The type of moth causing the problem

  • Extent of infestation

  • Areas of active larvae and eggs

This ensures your treatment plan is tailored to the severity and location of the problem.

2. ULV Fogging & Insecticide Spray

We use licensed, professional insecticides applied with a course sprayer and Ultra Low Volume (ULV) fogging machine. This:

  • Reaches hidden cracks and fibres

  • Eliminates adults, larvae and eggs

  • Creates a residual barrier to prevent re-infestation

Our pesticides are carefully selected to be effective while safe for homes and commercial spaces.

3. Heat Treatment (If Required)

For stubborn infestations — especially in wardrobes, carpets or heritage spaces — we offer professional heat treatment.

This involves raising temperatures to above 56 °C for around 2 hours to kill all life stages of moths. Heat treatment is:
✅ Chemical-free
✅ Penetrative (reaches deep into fabrics, wood & insulation)
✅ Highly effective for large-scale infestations

Heat kills insects at all life stages because they cannot survive high temperatures. More info

📌 Why Professional Treatment Works Better

While homeowners often try DIY methods like vacuuming or natural repellents, these usually don’t address all life stages of the pest — especially eggs and larvae deep in fibres or crevices. bpca.org.uk

Professional techniques:

  • Target hidden areas

  • Use specialised equipment

  • Provide guaranteed results and repeat visits if necessary

📊 Signs You Need Professional Moth Treatment

Infestations are easiest to treat when detected early. Contact us urgently if you notice:

  • Holes or thinning in clothes or fabrics

  • Webbing or larval casings in wardrobes

  • Adult moths fluttering near storage areas

  • Larvae or frass (tiny droppings) around natural-fibre textiles

These are clear signs moths are actively breeding in your property.

Insecticide FAQ

They can be if used incorrectly. In the air they are an irritant. Once we have treated the property and it has dried it poses little risk. People and animals need to vacate for several hours
No, they are stain free and will not damage furniture or carpets
We only use professional products that are proven. They will normally contain cypermethrin. These cannot be purchased without a license. We switch insecticides according to the infestation
Our insecticide contains 10% cypermethrin and DIY insecticides contain 0.1%. So you can see professional products are much stronger
We use a ULV fogging machine which makes a fine mist. We also use an electrostatic sprayer
No, most insecticides are not considered eco-friendly due to their potential harm to non-target organisms and the environment.
It will if they are left out. It will contact almost most surfaces. We suggest Heat Treatment
If you have a breathing related condition or allergies then heat is safer
